Day 1 – Kelaât M Gouna and the village of Boutaghar
To discover the Valley of Roses in Morocco in April or May, we suggest a 3-day excursion from Ouarzazate. The drive takes approximately 2 hours. This relatively short journey allows ample time to enjoy a visit once you arrive.
On the first day of this Ouarzazate Valley of Roses excursion you will visit Kelaât M Gouna and the village of Boutaghar.
Day 2 – Early morning rose picking and hiking in the valley
On the second day of this excursion from Ouarzazate, you can participate in rose picking early in the morning. This is the famous ‘rose de Damas‘which is cultivated in the Valley of Roses in Morocco. This rose provides its essence for perfumes and numerous cosmetic products. The Moroccan rose is known throughout the world. After a hearty breakfast at the guesthouse , you’ll set off for a day of hiking in the surrounding area with a local guide. It ‘s a great way to discover the magnificent landscapes of the Valley of Roses, and also to learn more about the local culture and traditions.’
Day 3 – Dadès Gorges and return to Ouarzazate
During the excursion to the Valley of Roses, you will also have the opportunity to visit the Dadès Gorges on the third day. This is another beautiful site to visit on a trip from Ouarzazate. You will have lunch there. After a walk with a local guide, you will travel back to Ouarzazate.
