During this first day of the Merzouga tour from Fez, the route passes in the Moroccan Middle Atlas. The landscapes are green thanks to lush vegetation and forests of cedars, pines and oaks. If you do this tour from Fez in winter, it is very likely to see beautiful snowy pictures.

What are the cities to visit on the road to the Moroccan desert from Fes?

You will first pass through Imouzzer Kandar, a small village located in the surrounding area close to Fez. Calm and very green due to the forests, Imouzzer Kandar is located at an altitude of 1,345m in the Middle Atlas.

Then head to Ifrane, also called “Moroccan Switzerland”. Very pretty in the snow, Ifrane is an essential stop during a Merzouga desert tour from Fez. 2nd day of the Merzouga tour from Fez: from Midelt to the dunes of Erg Chebbi

During the 2nd day of this Sahara tour from Fez to Erg Chebbi the landscapes will change.

You leave Midelt after breakfast. Let’s go on a 2-hour journey that will take you to Errachidia. Here, the mountains have become barren. We are in the region which precedes the Sahara. But greenery is also there: date palms, olive trees, fig trees, pomegranate trees, etc. The 4-day Fes to Merzouga trip continues.

After this stage, you head towards Erfoud where we stop for lunch. This town is located in an Oasis north of Rissani. You are very close to the Sahara…

In less than an hour, you arrive at Erg Chebbi. The landscapes in Merzouga are breathtaking. You enjoy these beautiful postcard views before settling into the hotel for the night. It is located at the foot of the dunes. The 4-day Fez desert tour allows you to enjoy two nights in Merzouga.

The 3rd day of the Merzouga tour from Fez is spent to hiking in the Moroccan desert. After breakfast you leave with the caravan of camels and nomads. Trekking in the Sahara is another way to discover Erg Chebbi.

After a while of walking, you can enjoy a camel ride. The landscapes and the color of the dunes change with the light… You can enjoy an outdoor activity that will delight everyone during this Morocco desert tour.

At noon, lunch is planned at the Oasis. In the afternoon, you finish the Morocco desert hike and arrive at the nomad camp for the night. You will spend the night in a Merzouga camp. 4th day: from Erg Chebbi to Fez

After this day in the Merouga desert, this Morocco tour takes you back to Fez.

First, you pass through the beautiful town of Rissani, Erfoud, Errachidia. You are moving towards Midelt.

After a stop for lunch in Rich, you continue on a road that connects Midelt to Sefrou. This small town in the Fes region is 800m above sea level. Sefrou is one of the oldest cities in Morocco. Known for its beautiful traditional medina with ramparts, Sefrou is the last visit before your tour ends in Fez.
