The Valley of Roses in Morocco: visit it in April and May!

The Valley of Roses tour from Ouarzazate

To discover the Valley of Roses in April or May, we suggest a 3-day tour from Ouarzazate. The distance is around 2 hours by car. This journey, relatively short, leaves time to enjoy on-site visits and different activities.

During this Ouarzazate to Valley of Roses excursion, the first day allows you to visit Kelaât M’Gouna and the village of Boutaghar.

On the 2nd day, if you get up early, you can participate in rose picking. It is the famous “Damask rose” variety which gives its essence to perfumes and many cosmetic products. The Moroccan rose is very well known throughout the world. After a hearty breakfast at the guest house, you set off for a day of hiking in the area. It’s a good way to discover the magnificent landscapes offered by the Valley of Roses. But also to learn more about local culture and traditions.

During the excursion to the Valley of Roses, you also have the opportunity to go to the Dades Gorges on the 3rd day. This is another beautiful site to visit when traveling from Ouarzazate. Lunch is organized on site. After a walk with a local guide, you take the road to return to Ouarzazate.
