1st day of this Fes Merzouga tour

After departure from Fez, you will pass through Midelt, Ziz Valley, Erfoud and Rissani before arriving in Merzouga in the evening. During the first day of this Fes Merzouga excursion, you will travel from the city of Fes to the Moroccan desert.

Visit of Ifrane and Azrou

You take the road in the morning direction Ifrane. It is a city in the Middle Atlas. You continue to Azrou. This city is located about 90km from Fez at an altitude of 1,200 m. The landscapes are hilly and very green. Next to Azrou is the largest cedar forest in Morocco.

Midelt and the Ziz Valley

You continue your Fes Merzouga trip via Midelt, a city located between the Middle Atlas and the Eastern High Atlas chains. Then cross the Ziz Valley in the Eastern High Atlas where there are beautiful palm groves…

Erg Chebbi dunes

The road to the Moroccan desert continues! Your guide will take you through Errachidia before arriving in Erfoud. This city is located in a large oasis. Then direction Rissani where a visit allows you to discover its many ksars!

In the afternoon, you finally arrive in Merzouga, where you find the camels and enjoy a tour in the dunes of Erg Chebbi. After sunset, dinner and night in Merzouga desert camp.

2nd day: visit of the Todra Gorges and the Dades Gorges

For this 2nd day of your Fez to Erg Chebbi tour, on the program:

  • breakfast at the Merzouga camp,
  • we still enjoy a little while in the Sahara,
  • and departure for the Todra Gorges!

The Todra Gorges are located in the High Atlas. Some reach 300m in height! Lunch on site and visit. After passing through the Todra Valley which invites you to stroll along the river, head for the Dadès Valley and the Dadès Gorges. Magnificent landscapes in sight… Visit, dinner and night in a charming riad in the Gorges du Dadès.

3rd day of the Fes Merzouga tour: Erg Chebbi – Marrakech

After these rich visits and the discovery of Erg Chebbi, it is time to head back. This one passes through the Valley of Roses and the visit of the Oasis of Skoura which is located near Ouarzazate (40km). Discovery of the Kasbahs and the palm grove. Then, visit the cinema studios and the Kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou.

After these visits, the road continues through the Tizi n’Tichka pass in the Atlas. The arrival is scheduled for late afternoon in Marrakech. A 3-day Marrakech Merzouga desert tour is also available.
